Lesson: Frog

Sharing life with you has allowed me to recognize the unique nature of being human. Thank you for helping me play, and in turn, find inspiration.

Frog is a dog. A chihuahua, Jack Russell, Dachshund mix, to be exact. My household adopted him as a puppy and he’s been teaching us about life ever since. He’s an explorer who loves to play. On our many adventures, I’ve learned how to better give in to the state of play. Undistracted awe and exploration of the beauty and unknown that surrounds me. Playing, just for fun. Froggy, as many know him, is a pro at this.

After our adventures, I most notice the difference between him and me: Frog waits for our next adventure; I become inspired by our play and want to transmute that inspiration into some kind of creation. Frog wants to play, then play again. Us humans are different. We’re inclined to a process that looks more like this: Play, find inspiration from our play, then use that inspiration to create.

The act of intentional creation is what makes us human. We’re not only creating by instinct, but by cognitive intention that transcends practicality and permeates something greater. In this way, human creation is completely unique. Humans were designed to create. We were made for this.

Lesson learned: Creators follow our instinctual and spiritual calling to design and create with intention. Living in the Creator Role allows us to fully step into the human experience.
