To the oldest teacher in this school of life: I continue to learn from you and will always appreciate our reciprocal relationship, which leaves me in awe.

It wasn’t until adulthood that I began to appreciate and understand the natural world. For the first time, I started to see when I looked around. What I saw was a perfectly designed system which engulfed me, supported me, and relied on me. I recognized that the path of discovery was one that had been treaded countless times before, and it, too, was mine to follow.
The cyclical nature of this system is impossible to ignore, and its presence made me deeply uncomfortable, as if there would never be an end to my learning, my working, my seeking. But soon I learned to view each of these cycles as a whole, complete within itself, and important patterns emerged.
The seasons are a worthwhile representation of this idea. The four seasons come and go, come and go, come and go. This constant and repeated change is something we, like our ancestors, rely on. Each season tells us when to rest, grow, and harvest, all by example. The Earth follows this pattern and has welcomed us into its system so that we might recognize and benefit from it too.
Lesson: All has its place, purpose, and time. Creators recognize governing patterns, anticipate their cycles, and leave worry behind in understanding that the system works on our behalf.
