Poem: Piece by Piece

Have you ever worked on a puzzle with no picture?

I’m testing every piece, wondering what it could be.

I’m searching through a sea of possibilities!

I don’t yet know the shape or size.

I can’t be convinced this piece is the right fit.

What scene is really worth all this trouble?

Should I call each piece beautiful and go on my way?

I can’t take a step when I know they form to create exactly what I’ve dreamed of.

So I’m getting comfortable, ready to keep working.

This is what it means to create something new.

This is what it means to complete the puzzle that is you.
