THE CREATOR ROLE

Everything I am is because of your love. Thank you for showing me balance and giving me lifelong work.

When I was little, I made my mother a clay present, a standing figurine that spelled the word “balance.” When I go home to visit her, I see it sitting on the top bathroom shelf, a reminder of the early and deep influence she’s had on my way of thinking and, eventually, my work. 

To this day, my mother reminds me: “It’s all a balance.” Life is a balance. As I aged, I became more interested in understanding a non-dualistic way of thinking that coincided with the idea that life is perfectly balanced. What I learned is that the dualistic way of human nature, which is expressed through light and dark, cold and hot, good and bad, helps to create a life that is not just balanced, but whole. 

This perspective is an important precursor for living as a Creator because it empowers us to remove the fear and worry that lies on the other side of anything. It reinforces that all is imbued with intended purpose, and it is our job to recognize and align ourselves with it. It allows us to act with confidence, knowing that our understanding of the world is whole and clear. 

This is what it means to live in the Creator Role: We empower our lives with the joy of intentional choice by first recognizing our choices, evaluating them with value-led objectivity, and ultimately deciding and acting in faith. When we follow this process without fear, or better yet, in spite of it, we live as a Creator and begin to create our life with intention.

Lesson learned: Embracing the true nature of balance and incorporating it into our decision-making perspective allows confidence to grow and gives us permission to take action with ease.
