There are too many of you to list, brave in moments when most hide. I’ve been inspired by you, but even more, motivated by you, to be confident in what I *know* is good.

Confidence is elusive. Some moments we’re filled with it. Adjust our surroundings and suddenly it’s gone. Unite us with our best person and suddenly it’s back. Finding habitual confidence is a skill.
I’ve been lucky enough to know many confident creators. What I’ve learned is that they’re not always confident. They find confidence in the moments that matter. When life tests them by requiring bravery, they pass. They show up, do their best, and are rewarded with their next confidence badge.
It’s easy to be confident when there’s nothing at stake, when no one’s watching. True confidence surfaces when you trust yourself enough to do the things that scare you. To sing your best song in front of listeners you admire. To share the first draft that’s garnered high expectations. To create something that’s never been before.
To be relentlessly confident, we have to continue finding moments of vulnerability, challenges that scare us, and opportunities for failure. We have to give ourselves the chance to be confident, and show up.

Lesson learned: Creators make confidence a habit by frequenting moments of fear, and acting.
